Food Fraud is causing millions of losses per year in the food and beverage processing industry;

therefore, it is essential that industry engage, collaborate and eradicate fraud throughout the food supply chain

 

Over the years, industry and regulators have developed food safety management systems, making major outbreaks of food poisoning now quite unusual in many countries.

 

What is food fraud?

Food fraud commonly encompasses a wide range of deliberate fraudulent acts.

The two main types of economi- cally-motivated adulteration are:

Sale of food which is unfit and potentially harmful, such as: – recycling of animal by-products

back into the food chain; – unknown origin; – knowingly selling goods past their ‘use by’ date.

 

•Deliberate mislabelling of food, such as: – products substituted with

a cheaper alternative,arieties. False statements about the source of ingredients, geographic, plant or animal origin.

 

 

FOOD SAFETY INTERNATIONAL NETWORK give this workshop course for Latin American Industry, which will allow you to keep up to date with the global concerns and challenges facing the food industry and which your organization can face. This workshop course consists of 16 hrs. that will take you to:
• Understand practical strategies to combat food fraud
• Know, understand and evaluate an environment of vulnerabilities that encourage food fraud
• Identify food fraud through an analysis of the environment
• Interpret the established requirements according to worldwide recognized systems such as FDA-FSMA, GFSI and PAS 96 among others.
• Implement a mitigation plan against any threat or adulteration motivated economically (food fraud) and that may affect the health of the consumer
